320 Days ago was the last major sporting event, I attended prior to the world changing as we know it. I watched a nail biting ACC championship game between the Florida State Women’s Basketball team lose to NC State. In that game the Greensboro Arena was packed, and there was no fear in sight.
3 days later, I was working out in my apartment complex gym, and I remember in the span of my workout, going from watching a basketball game to watching the entire NBA season being suspended indefinitely. At that moment, I realized the world was about to change as we knew it. The rest is history.
Wednesday, I was lucky enough to get my first dose of the Pfizer Covid-19 Vaccine. It was an interesting experience, as I received my vaccine at the same place, that I last attended a major sporting event. Within the Greensboro Coliseum!
Atmosphere at Coliseum
As I walked in the Coliseum doors, it was similar to every other time I have entered this building for concerts and sporting events. It was full of excitement and hope. Everyone there had the same hope that this was the beginning to put the Covid-19 Virus behind us.
My symptoms following the vaccine were very similar to most everyone else who I have talked too, following the first dose. I was sore at the sight of injection site for about 24 hours. I did have some fatigue that night, however, I am unsure if that was from the vaccine or that I woke up at 4:30 am to review before a test. Besides, that I did not have any symptoms and now looking forward to my second does in three weeks!
